Currently this is a practice blog created as an application to a presentation to the ESA on Sept. 24th 2009. It may be developed into an ongoing dialogue in the future but needs editing and approval to become an official dialogue of FACTS and/or ESA

I was involved in SU in high school. I am involved currently in student government in my university.
The only Student Association I have experience with is the ESA. It has always been positive experience, although I sometimes wish we had some professional development things over the summer, when I actually have time to do them. However, they always have tons of volunteer options and are always friendly when I stop by :-D
I haven't always had positive experiences with student associations in the past, but so far my experience with the ESA has been positive!
I have had a variety of experience within a number of student associations.
My first degree was in engeering and of my 5 years of that degree I was involved in some manner with the student association. Ranging from first year only involved in the engineering newspaper, which I stayed with for all 5 years. Most of my time with that was enjoyable, however my last year I learned a lot from taking over the newspaper in late September. Unfortunately the newspaper appeared to die soon after I left.
I learned that it is a challenge to inspire students to get involved, for they always seem to have assignments and other 'more important' thing going on.
